Approximately 20 organic flower seeds per pack
With beautiful, coloured pink, purple and white flowers and a gorgeous fragrance, Organic Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus) looks lovely climbing over tepees and trellises. Try planting next to runner beans to attract bees and other pollinators to your vegetable garden. Our Organic Sweet Pea Mixed Colours is a traditional favourite, with gorgeously scented blooms that are lovely as cutflowers too! 100% pesticide-free and organically grown in the UK, so it’s perfect for an organic garden. Also these bee-friendly seeds are excellent for a natural garden. Pick sweet peas regularly for vases to fill your house with scent and encourage more flowering.
Growing instructions:
Sow indoors in pots in October and overwinter in a cold frame or greenhouse. Pinch out tips when they reach 10cm to encourage bushier plants — transplant to growing positions in March-May. Support plants on a cane wigwam or strings. Sow directly into the ground in March, 7 centimetres apart. Pinch out tips when there are four pairs of leaves. Tie stems into the support regularly. Flowers June-September – and the more you pick, the more flowers will appear.
Special note: Sweet peas are a great choice for young gardeners, but while the seed pods may look like the pods of edible peas, they’re poisonous.
