Plants for Wet and Moist Soil

Not many plants like excessively wet soil, as their roots will rot in these conditions. Particularly when soil stays wet for a long time, such as in impermeable soil like clay or around a pond. Nevertheless, there are plants that are suitable for moist or wetter soil and are looking beautiful too. Plants like Sanguisorba, Aster, Brunnera, Eupatorium, Geum, Lobelia and Persicaria will tolerate wet or moist soil quite well.
