Tempt bees and butterflies to the garden with our 100% pesticide-free, organic Serratula Seoanei. Also known as ‘Knapweed’, Serratula Seoanei blooms in August and September with exquisite purplish-pink thistle flowers on 20cm wiry stalks.
This bee-friendly perennial is an excellent choice for natural planting schemes and gravel gardens, where it looks fantastic planted at the front of borders with geraniums and grasses. It is fully hardy, although it dies back in autumn, and flowers best in full sun and well-drained soil. Don’t cut back after flowering, as the strawlike seedheads look beautiful in frosty weather and are also a popular snack for finches and other birds.
