Cephalaria procera is a beautiful bee-friendly perennial for the middle or back of a border, with pale creamy yellow scabious-like flowers borne on tall, elegant stems. And once the flowers have faded, you are left with lovely seed heads, perfect for dried flower arrangements.

Cephalaria is a native of Turkey and Iran and thrives in sunny, moist but well-drained soil. It grows to around 1.8m and may need support in windy areas. It flowers from June-August – cut back after the first flowers fade to encourage a second flush. Cephalaria will self-seed and forms large clumps, which you can divide in spring. Our eco-friendly grown plants are 100% pesticide-free, so they’re an excellent option for a natural garden.
