With masses of soft blue daisy flowers with yellow centres, Kalimeris ‘Blue Star’ is a lovely addition to a cottage garden or prairie planting. This pretty Japanese Aster is ideal as part of a blue, pink and silver planting scheme and is also great for cutting. Plant Kalimeris ‘Blue Star’ in groups at the front of a border or in containers for a drift of colour from July – September. Stake with brushwood in early spring and deadhead regularly to prolong the flowering period. Cut the faded stems back to the ground in autumn and mulch around the base of the stem with compost or manure.
