Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Red Head’ prefers a sunny position in a border. The soil for Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Red Head’ should not be too dry, and poorly-draining soils are not tolerated. Trim the faded plumes of Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Red Head’ in March.
