Organic Lettuce Oak Leaf, is a loose-headed, oakleaf lettuce with bright-green leaves, perfect for a salad bowl. It’s one of the best cut-and-come-again varieties – keep on picking the tender young leaves, and the plants will produce more. You can also harvest the heads whole.
Growing instructions:
Sow indoors almost all year round and in the garden from March onwards. Keep well watered. Lettuces don’t need too much sun and are more likely to “bolt” or go to seed in hot weather.
Cooking:
Organic Lettuce Oak Leaf is usually eaten raw – wash the leaves and dry in a salad spinner or tea towel. Enjoy Salad Bowl combined with other salad leaves such as rocket and cress. It’s also delicious in wraps and sandwiches.
