Change how your meals taste by adding organic herb chives to your garden. Chives look like large onions and contain a similar flavour. They blossom into large, rose-like pink to purple flowers. Use them in salads and food seasoning. You can also make tea from the plant to use as antifungal spray on other vegetables.
Our 100% pesticide-free chives grow in moist soils in sunny and semi-shade conditions. Sow your seeds in February and cover them. Once they sprout, uncover them and let them grow to 8 cm in length. Then, transplant it to a pot or open ground. Maintain a width of 15 inches.
If you wish to plant seeds directly on the garden, wait until March and plant to September. Chives is a perennial herb that dies off in winter and sprouts again when the weather warms up, thereby giving you endless supply of fresh seasoning.
