Arnica montana
Seed Count: Approximately 150 seeds per package, 700-800 seeds per gram
Arnica, an age-old medicinal plant renowned for its use in analgesic and anti-inflammatory gels and ointments, showcases captivating golden yellow flower heads, making it a striking addition to any sunny flower bed. Flourishing in thin, porous, sour, and humus-rich soil with low lime content, arnica typically starts flowering in its second year. Its natural aesthetic seamlessly integrates into both natural and cottage gardens, drawing in insects, particularly bees.
Cultivation Tips:
Arnica can be slow to germinate, requiring patience. Begin by sowing the seeds onto the surface of a seed compost-filled tray in March and April.
As arnica relies on light for germination, cover the seeds with a gentle dusting of compost or sharp sand. Transplant the seedlings in April and May when they are sufficiently large to handle.
