Organic Sweet Corn, True Gold, is a traditional maize variety with yellow kernels and a fabulous buttery flavour. Although Sweet Corn needs good summer weather for the best yields, it’s worthy of a place in any vegetable patch – the tall plants look stunning, and you’ll enjoy freshly picked cobs at their sweetest.
Growing instructions:
Sow inside April-May or directly in May-early June. Plant sweet corn in blocks to aid pollination. Keep well watered and weed between plants – harvest the cobs from September.
Cooking:
Eat sweet corn as fresh as possible before the sugars turn to starch. Bake or boil whole cobs, or remove the kernels and use them in fritters, chowder and creamed corn.
