Organic Carrot Amsterdam Forcing are flavourful carrots growing early in the season which are 100% pesticide-free. The long, finger-like roots have a rich colour and provide a high yield. Make successive sowings of this versatile, fast-growing variety in the greenhouse or in your vegetable plot.
Growing instructions:
Sow in very early spring for undercover crops. Outside, it’s best to wait until May. Carrots do best in rich, deep soil with no stones. Sow in shallow drills, then thin seedlings to 5-6 centimetres. Carrots may need protection from slugs and carrot flies; barrier methods work well.
Cooking:
Wash and cut into chunks or slices, then boil, steam or roast until tender. Carrots are also delicious raw, in salads, or to accompany dips.
