Growing up to a metre tall, our 100% pesticide-free Organic Artichoke Imperial Star, Tavor seeds are a decorative addition to a potager or flower garden. Harvest the “globes” from June – left on the plant, they develop into purple flowers that tempt bees to your plot. Artichoke plants are perennials, so will come back every year.

Growing instructions:
Sow in trays or pots at 18 °C. Plant in a sunny, well-drained position site 90 centimetres apart in late summer or next spring.

Cooking globe artichokes:
Enjoy when they are young and tender. Later, a fibrous “choke” develops, and you should discard it. Soak in salt water for half an hour to remove any insects. Trim the pointed tips of the leaves, then boil for 20 to 40 minutes according to size.
