Organic Squash Blue Ballet are bee-friendly, organically grown in the UK. Blue Ballet Squash has yellow trumpet-shaped flowers followed by fruits with a tear-drop shape, blue-grey skin and sweet orange flesh. Squashes store well in a cool shed or garage.
Growing tips: Sow seeds in 8cm pots or modules in April/May. Plant out 60 cm apart after risk of frost has passed—water well in dry weather. Harvest in autumn before the first frost.
Special note: The skin can be hard to cut, so take care when preparing.
Cooking: Delicious in soups, stews and curries or cut into wedges and roasted with oil and spices.
