Our 100% pesticide-free Organic Cucumber, Excelsior F1 (Gherkin) seeds produce a wealth of spiny, dark-green fruits ideal for eating fresh or for pickling. Cucumber, Excelsior F1 can be grown in the garden, greenhouses, or tunnels and is naturally resistant to many diseases.

Companion planting:
Plant cucumbers next to Tagetes to draw aphids away.

Growing instructions:
Sow indoors in April/ May. Transplant outdoors in May/June, support on a cane wigwam or strings. Pick regularly from June onwards.

Cooking:
As well as enjoying cucumbers in green salads and tabbouleh, add to yoghurt with mint and dill for tzatziki and raita. Excellent for making classic pickled gherkins.
