Tulipa ‘Siesta’ is a beautifully refined and romantic tulip variety, grown organically without the use of synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. With its soft, double blooms and elegant colouring, it brings a sense of calm sophistication to spring displays, making it a perfect choice for cottage gardens, borders, or stylish containers.

Flowering in mid to late spring, ‘Siesta’ produces lush, peony-like flowers in a rich shade of mauve-pink, each petal edged delicately with white. The fully double blooms are packed with layers of ruffled petals, giving them a luxurious texture and long-lasting presence in the garden. Standing around 40–45 cm tall on strong, upright stems, this tulip makes an excellent cut flower and pairs beautifully with other soft-toned spring bulbs like hyacinths, muscari, and pastel narcissus.

Tulipa ‘Siesta’ thrives in a sunny position with well-drained soil. It does best in light, fertile soil types such as loam or sand, and should be planted in autumn at a depth of around 10–15 cm, with 10 cm spacing. Like most tulips, it dislikes overly wet conditions, especially during dormancy, so good drainage is key. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering to help the bulbs store energy for the next season.

Though tulips with such double blooms are often treated as annuals, ‘Siesta’ may return for a second season in the right conditions. Its soft colour palette and richly layered petals add elegance to any planting scheme, while its organic cultivation supports healthier soil and a more environmentally friendly garden.

With its romantic charm, reliable performance, and sustainable credentials, Organic Tulipa ‘Siesta’ is a stunning choice for gardeners who want spring beauty with gentle flair.
