Organic Squash Red Kuri, is a highly decorative, onion-shaped squash with vivid orange skin, firm, waxy flesh and a sweet, chest-nutty flavour. This variety looks fantastic grown over frames or wigwams and produces yellow, trumpet-like flowers followed by medium-sized fruits. Each plant will yield several squashes. Red Kuri also stores well.
Growing instructions:
Soak Organic Squash Red Kuri seeds before planting on their edge in pots April – May. Sow directly after the risk of frost has passed—harvest September – November.
Cooking:
Squashes are brilliant in soups, stews and curries. They also make delicious spicy wedges – take care when cutting them, as the skin may be tough and difficult to remove.
